Dr. Wolhandler is a gentle, caring dentist who makes patient comfort his top priority. Following in the footsteps of his mother, Dr. Karen Lawitts, he continues her legacy as a premier cosmetic dentist in Syracuse NY and the greater Central New York area. Dr. Wolhandler's passion is cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry. He grew up in Syracuse and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree at RIT in Rochester, New York. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Indiana University in Indianapolis and went on to complete a residency program at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
Dr. Wolhandler is committed to continuing education and has completed extensive post-graduate training in oral surgery, oral sleep apnea appliances, cosmetic dentistry, implantology, neuromuscular dentistry, and helping those with Temporal Mandibular Joint Dysfunction. He has attended dental aesthetic lectures by the famous Dr. Michael Apa. Dr. Wolhandler is certified in Invisalign and is a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, American Dental Association, Fifth District Dental Society, and Onondaga County Dental Society. His current focus is finishing course work with the renowned Las Vegas Institute, a focus on neuromuscular dentistry to help those with Temporal Mandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJD/TMJ).
Dr. Wolhandler's wife, Dr. Katie Fiori is an OB-GYN physician at CNY Women's Health Care in East Syracuse. They enjoy playing tennis, skiing and spending time with their 2 year old daughter. One of Dr. Wolhandler's goals is to give back to the community, especially to those who need it most.
